چکیده

This paper presents a novel and efficient approach to color in high dynamic range (HDR) imaging. In contrast to state-of-theart methods, we propose to move the complete HDR imaging process from RGB to a luminance-chrominance color space. Our aim is to get a computationally efficient technique and to avoid any possible color distortions originating from the three RGB color channels processed separately. To achieve this, we build a camera response function for the luminance channel only and weight and compose the HDR luminance accordingly, while for the chrominance channels we apply weighting in relation with the saturation level. We demonstrate that our technique yields natural and pleasant to perceive tone-mapped images and is also more robust to noise.

An Adaptive Tone Mapping Method for Displaying High Dynamic Range Images

Bilateral filter based tone mapping for rendering High Dynamic Range (HDR) images can not display all details in dark or highlight areas of an image. In order to solve the problem, we propose a Local Adaptive Bilateral Filter (LABF) method having threefold improvement over the bilateral filter based method. First, since less correlation between luminance and chrominance can produce better perfo...

Spatial Color-to-Grayscale Transform Preserving Chrominance Edge Information

A color image sent to a monochrome output device must undergo a color-to-grayscale transformation. Such a transform typically retains the luminance channel or a derivative thereof. A problem with this approach is that the distinction between two different colors of similar luminance is lost. This loss can be particularly objectionable if the two colors are spatially adjacent. The paper describe...

A Practical Framework to Achieve Perceptually Seamless Multi-projector Displays

ADITI MAJUMDER: A Practical Framework to Achieve Perceptually Seamless Multi-Projector Displays (Under the direction of Prof. Greg Welch and Prof. Rick Stevens) Arguably the most vexing problem remaining for planar multi-projector displays is that of color seamlessness between and within projectors. While researchers have explored approaches that strive for strict color uniformity, this goal ty...

Color filter array with sparse color sampling crosses for mobile phone image sensors

In order to solve the conflict between the size constraints of mobile phone cameras and image quality, it is an effective approach to improve the light sensitivity of imaging sensors. A color filter array comprising sparsely distributed crosses of color sampling blocks is proposed, in which nearly 69% of elements are transparent ones that detect luminance directly with a higher sensitivity than...
